Iranian Forces State Strike on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Amid Widespread Counterattacks.
Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Bahrain, as Iran launched operations across the region in retaliation for a "massive" and continuing offensive targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity close to the main base of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any damage is not yet known and the US has not commented.
Airspace Engagements
In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting US military bases - reported they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had successfully engaged several missiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the Middle East.
IRGC Statement
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it was targeting US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the strikes on the Islamic Republic launched by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.
That initial attack - launched at around 06:15 GMT - has so far struck locations associated with the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump calling on the Iranian people to rise up against the government.
Regional Fallout
In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military stated it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The defence ministry of the UAE said in a statement that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems responded to the projectiles with notable success and shot down a series of missiles," the statement continued.
The statement noted wreckage fell on a populated district in the capital, causing some structural damage and the death of one civilian.
The United States Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
