Previous British Broadcasting Corporation Advisers Participate in MPs' Grilling Following Claims of Bias in Leaked Memo
We begin with inquiries from Tory Member of Parliament the committee chair, that oversees the panel.
She initiates by offering details to the unauthorized memorandum written by Michael Prescott and published in a national newspaper.
"I don't want the British Broadcasting Corporation slanting this way or that way, I simply desire it straight, impartial and equitable," he declares.
When asked whether he thinks the BBC is institutionally biased, he replies: "No, I do not. It is important to note, tons of stuff the BBC creates is world class - including informative and non-factual shows."
However, he continues: "There exists significant effort that needs to be done at the BBC."
Another previous consultant BBC specialist examined by the panel, Caroline Daniel, says she takes the BBC extremely earnestly and that it maintains a "ongoing system and lively discussion" regarding evolving and intricate topics.
"Was the BBC willing to have a thorough conversation and argument and act accordingly?" she reflects. "In my view, yes they were."
